Where Bloggers Create

Here it is "My Studio"
a.k.a. "The Cra(p)ft Room
I am so excited to be a part of this "Where Bloggers Create" event. I do all of my "work" here, and occasionally at a friends home (Hello Terri: http://terrisbloomingideas.blogspot.com/ ). Please turn off the player on the bar to the right. Then click on the video and enjoy.
I am so fortunate to have a daughter who is more savvy at all this computer stuff and was able to splice together my before, and after "flip" shots showing the process of renovating my room.
My husband was a dear and helped patch, paint, and put together the shelves. I had posted some of this earlier in the year but here is the before and after.
The Shelves are from "Ikea" they are the Expedit line. The cloth baskets are from Target. I used my Christmas bonus ( a Target card) to buy them. They are the larger baskets, not the 2 for $10.00. The Drawer Unit also from Ikea part of a clearance. Shoe hangers from Target, as well as the kitchen island (Clearance 75% off). I have to admit I blatantly stole the idea of the shelves and island from Donna Downey. Although she obviously has a much larger room (she has two of the large Expedit units), I loved the idea of the basket storage. She uses the smaller baskets, but I wanted to be able to fill them and utilize as much of the cube as I could.
Yes, I create here and as you will see my computer is in this room so I blog here too. I have a camera in my computer and would love to try "virtual" creating with others. I think it would be fun to work on a piece and be able to share with someone at the same time. Come on Terri and Nancy let's go!
Please visit all the people participating.... just click on the tag in the left task bar or here:

I love your ribbons! And I love your profile picture, too. You have a pretty fantastic space, and a pretty loving husband for helping you fix it up. My husband helped me fix mine up, too. Your work is really beautiful, BTW. I just started doing mixed media self portraiture and I think yours are fabulous. Thanks for the peek at your studio, and thanks also for coming by mine earlier.

What a great before and after video! I love your space. Thank you for dropping in for a visit.

You commented on my head vase collection. I call mine damaged divas, they are all chipped, cracked, or have lost their heads at one time or another. The most I paid for one is $5.00 because of their condition, otherwise I would never pay what I consider to be too high a price for them. I love them even though they are not in collectible condition.

I saw your prayer request below and will certainly be praying for you all.

Hi Deb, It was great visiting your studio for this event! I just love your all your amazing goodies. Hi Debra! Great idea for the video! Your space is terrific! I see you have a mac too. I love mine. Did you know that you don't have to use the mouse that comes with it?? One of the only things I didn't like about the Mac was that I couldn't right click. A co-worker told me I could use my old mouse and presto! I'm a right clicking, Mac using fool!!! Thank so much for coming to my party. You really helped to make it a great success!
